The exploration of Irpinia territories is not complete unless you stop to learn about the natural and cultural beauties of Bisaccia and Monteverde municipalities.
Bisaccia, with its geological characteristics and its complex historical events, still has a unique structure to discover.
Monteverde have this peculiar feature: is located on the border between Campania and Puglia, more than 700 meters above sea level, a feature which makes the visit a must for lovers of the views.
The starting point of the itinerary is the Ducal Castle of Bisaccia, whose origins date back to the ninth century. Other points of interest of the town are the Convent, the Cathedral in Piazza Duomo and the Church of the Dead. For sports lovers and eco-tourism, it could be interesting a bike ride in Monteverde, in order to fully enjoy the natural treasures, and also to visit the Baronial Castle of the city and admire one of the most beautiful municipalities in Italy (ranked second place in the competition of Kilimangiaro television program).
Monteverde is located near the lake of San Pietro, location of the Great Water Show which takes place every years, during the summer.
Complementary to the organization of this event is the Air Show, a spectacular falconry theater.
Lake St. Peter, also known as Aquilaverde, for its beauty attracts visitors throughout the year. The picnic area with a children’s playground and the opportunity to go fishing are the biggest strength of this location.
